Avitech`s sister organisation, Kegg Farms, specializes in coloured chicken for backyard poultry (Kuroiler). Recently Kegg Farms was chosen as a case study at Harvard University, U.S.A.

Kegg Farms was chosen as a case study to illustrate:

(a) how local companies innovate to survive and prosper by identifying niches that exist in the market

(b) to demonstrate how distribution may be structured to supply perishable young chicks to cover even the remotest parts of a country

(c) the ability of Kegg Farms to serve both business as well as social causes as the socio-economic impact of KeggFarms activity is very significant
