Technical Seminar Organised by Avitech at Davangere, Karnataka (South India)

Avitech organised a technical seminar for commercial layer farmers on 22nd March 2007 at hotel Pooja International, Davangere. Mr. K.S. Ravi, Zonal Sales Manager commenced the meeting by highlighting the activities of Avitech and the objective of the seminar.

Thereafter Dr. Rama Subba Reddy, Retd Professor, ANGRAU presented his topic on “Novel feed additives-Gaining the performance edge in layers”. Dr. Reddy emphasized on usage of antioxidants, lysophospholipids, organic acids and organic trace minerals in layer rations. He urged all farmers to always use these additives and can compensate the increased feed cost by reducing some amount of soya. He also stressed on usage of Vit A and Vit C round the year to enhance the performance of the birds.

Dr. K.R.Gunasekar, Sr. Technical Manager, Avitech presented his topic on “Nutrition for improved productivity” a subject dear to farming community. The audiences were all ears as he began his presentation. He pointed out the raw material quality and suggested various tips to ensure the better quality raw material with on-the-spot checks. He also discussed about the variability in the nutrient requirement of birds with various stress factors playing role at the farms. The graphic presentation of the variable requirements made the visitors to hang upon every word and the presentation interestingly. Dr. Gunasekar shared some interesting figures on rat/rodents menace at farm level. He pointed out the rodent movements through the holes made in periphery of pipes coming out from sheds and recommended that it should be surrounded by metal plates to minimize rodent movements.
