The 3rd Know-edge Nutrition seminar

        

Avitech Nutrition Pvt. Ltd., a leading animal nutrition company organized a technical seminar on August 18 and 19, 2008 at Hotel Shyam in Tanuku, West Godavari District and River Bay Resort, Rajamundry. This was the third in the 'Know-edge Nutrition' series for commercial layer farmers. A large number of progressive layer farmers and consultants attended the seminar.

The 'Know-edge Nutrition Seminar' began with a welcome address by Dr Balaji Chate, Zonal Sales Manager, Avitech. Mr.M.V.Koushik, General Manager, Marketing, spoke next describing the activities of Avitech. Mr.Koushik outlined the various initiatives taken by the company towards increasing awareness about nutrition amongst the layer farming community.

The seminar witnessed the participation of highly qualified doctors and nutritionists. Dr.V.R.Reddy, GM-Nutrition and R&D, Avitech, delivered an informative speech, talking about the 'Rising Feed Cost: Coping with the Challenge'. Dr.Reddy highlighted the increasing cost of ingredients as a major threat to the industry. Further ahead, Dr.Reddy discussed various remedial measures to deal with the rising costs. In his speech, Dr.Reddy also talked about the significance of enzymes in controlling the feed cost and emphasized the importance of maintaining adequate Phosphorous and Amino Acid levels in feed. Dr.Reddy opined that farmers usually use higher levels of phosphorous and amino acids then what is required.

Dr G Sarvanan, Regional Technical Manager, Avitech and Dr Harish Dharne, Manager-Technical Services, Avitech were amongst others who spoke about the importance of enzymes in feed. Dr.Dharne spoke about 'Metazyme L and LP', enzyme formulations researched and developed by Avitech. Metazyme contains a mix of supplementary and complimentary enzymes. Beta mananase is one of the special enzymes components specifically targeted towards degrading NSP content of Soyabean meal. Dr Sarvanan, with the help of some practical examples demonstrated how the matrix values of Metazyme could help reduce feed cost.

The 'Know-edge Nutrition Seminar' ended with the vote of thanks extended by Mr.Patturi Sriramudu, District Manager, Avitech. The seminar provided a great platform, bringing to light the varied initiatives being taken by Avitech, towards increasing awareness about nutrition amongst the layer farming community.
