Avitech at Namakkal Know-edge Nutrition Seminar

Avitech Nutrition Pvt Ltd, a leading manufacturer of premixes and specialty feed additives, organized a Know-edge Nutrition Seminar on 27th August 2009 at Hotel Nala, Namakkal, TN. This was the sixth in series of Know-edge Nutrition Seminars conducted for commercial layer farmers. The Know-edge Nutrition Seminars are conducted primarily to address the current issues or challenges faced by layer farmers. A large number of layer farmers, veterinarians and consultants attended the seminar.

The Know-edge Nutrition Seminar opened with an inaugural speech by Mr. Sakthivel, Zonal Sales Manager, Avitech. Mr. Sakthivel gave an overview of the company, the activities of the firm and the initiatives taken for promoting awareness in the field of poultry nutrition amongst poultry producers. Mr. M.V. Koushik, General Manager (Marketing) honoured the Chief Guest of the Seminar, Dr. D. Chandrasekaran, Professor and Head, Department of Animal Nutrition, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal.

Highly qualified doctors and nutritionists participated in the Know-edge Nutrition Seminar. Dr. Chandrasekaran delivered an informative key-note lecture on “Attaining and Maintaining Peak Production in Layers”. Dr. Chandrasekaran stressed the importance of chick, grower and pre-lay nutrition. Dr. Chandrasekaran, further highlighted the critical aim of achieving optimum body weight before lay and maintaining the standard body weight during lay as crucial for attaining optimum egg production. The topic also focused on the importance of micro-additives and desired specifications for achieving peak egg production. Dr. Chandrasekaran also stressed on the usage of feed additives such as enzymes and emulsifiers in poultry diets and their role in reducing raising feed costs.

Dr. A. Sabiha, Technical Manager, Avitech was the other speaker who emphasized on the “Importance of Quality Premix”. The critical steps involved in manufacturing of quality premix and the dos and don’ts of the same were discussed.

The Know-edge Nutrition Seminar was well appreciated by the participants and received an excellent response. The Know-edge Nutrition Seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Arulappan, Key Account Manager, Avitech. The Know-edge Nutrition Seminar provided a great platform, bringing to light the varied initiatives being taken by Avitech, towards increasing awareness about nutrition amongst the layer farming community.
